Admissions Timeline


Freshman Year

· Make sure you are taking classes that will meet the selective admissions requirements.
· Begin researching/inquiring about scholarship opportunities.
· Enroll/register for ACT/SAT prep courses.


Sophomore Year

· Research scholarship opportunities.
· Enroll/register for ACT/SAT prep courses.


Junior Year

· Retake the ACT (SU Code: 1610)/SAT (SU code: 6663) and send scores to Southern University if you don't meet the test score requirement.
· Put your name on our mailing list.
· Take a tour of the campus.


Senior Year

September – December

· Apply for scholarships.
· Retake the ACT/SAT if you don't meet the test score requirement and have the scores sent to Southern University.


January – March

· Apply for admission to Southern University.
· Submit a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
· Submit a high school transcript and immunization.
· Retake the ACT/SAT and have the scores sent to Southern University if you don't meet the test score requirement.


April – May

· Submit final high school transcript.
· Submit housing application by May 1.

June – July

· Submit final high school transcript.
· Deadline for Fall Admissions is July 1.

August

· Classes begin
