FIRST-TIME FRESHMEN FROM OUT-OF-STATE HIGH SCHOOLS OR HOME-SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Freshmen students, who graduate from out-of-state schools or are home schooled, must meet one of the following minimum admissions criteria.


• Criteria 1:
i. Completion of Board of Regents’ High School Core Curriculum;
ii. Minimum ACT English or Math score of 18 (SAT Verbal score of 450 or Math score of 430);
iii. One of the following:


1. Minimum high school GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale; OR
2. Minimum composite ACT score of 20 (SAT score of 940); OR
3. Rank in the upper 50% of the high school graduating class.



• Criteria 2:
i. Minimum composite ACT score of 20 (SAT score of 940);
ii. Minimum ACT English or Math score of 18 (SAT Verbal score of 450 or Math score of 430);
iii. Minimum high school GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale;
iv. Rank in the upper 50% of the high school graduating class.



• Criteria 3
i. Minimum composite ACT score of 23 (SAT score of 1060);
ii. Minimum ACT English or Math score of 18 (SAT Verbal score of 450 or Math score of 430).

 
Reminder
Please submit an official high school transcript, and a copy of your test scores and immunization record.
  Most Louisiana high schools are now submitting electronic transcripts to the State Department of Education. Once your application for admission is submitted, Southern Uuniversity's Office of Admissions can request an electronic copy of your high school transcript from the State Department of Education. If you have any questions, your guidance counselor can verify your school's participation in this program.
